You find yourself in a strange house, and you're not alone... Explore the mansion, collect items to solve strange puzzles, and find a way out. Will you be able to escape?

Use your wits to solve puzzles and reveal hidden passages, but beware of what lurks behind each moving wall.

Collect items and inspect them for clues in your inventory, there is sometimes more to them than what first meet the eye...

Something hides in the shadows and stalks your every move... Will you be caught, or can you escape the nightmare?

-----BEHIND THE GAME
This game is a student project made in Unreal Engine 5.4 as part of the Game Development Program at Vertex School. It's rough around the edges and the textures have been downsized to 1k so the game file would fit on Itch.io, but I hope you enjoy anyway! Also note that the .exe file is named SpookyTownBP which was the working title, but it turns out it's a nightmare to rename projects in Unreal...

-----GOOD TO KNOW BEFORE PLAYING
- Best experience with headphones (and turn the lights off).
- The game does not require you to backtrack after reaching a new room, i.e. the solution to the next puzzle is where you are now. The only notable exception being if tarot cards are missing at the very end.
- There is a soft-locking bug (the true horror) with the saving system when a game is loaded multiple times in a row. If you see duplicate items in your inventory, start a new game (sorry).

I probably won't be working on this project going forward but please don't hesitate to share any feedback or recommendation!
